What does the "Verified" badge mean?

The employer's name has been matched against the Home Office's live Register of Licensed Sponsors — the official list of companies currently licensed to sponsor Skilled Worker (and related) visas. It's the strongest signal we can give that sponsorship is genuinely available.

What does "Pre-Verified" mean?

Accepted Answer

The role's advertised salary has been checked against current Skilled Worker visa thresholds using its occupation (SOC) code, but we haven't yet matched the specific employer against the Home Office sponsor register. It's a genuine second tier — salary-threshold-checked, but not yet confirmed as a licensed sponsor.

If a job isn't verified, does that mean the employer can't sponsor?

Accepted Answer

No. The most common reason for a failed match is a name mismatch: job boards list trading names like "Acme Health" while the register holds "ACME HEALTHCARE GROUP LIMITED". We normalise both sides before comparing — stripping Ltd, Limited, LLP, Group and punctuation — but some names still won't line up. Treat an unmatched employer as "not confirmed" rather than "not licensed", and check the register yourself before writing the role off.

How is the salary threshold calculated?

We match each job to a UK SOC 2020 occupation code where possible, then compare its annualised salary against the current gov.uk "going rate" for that occupation (or the reduced Immigration Salary List rate, or the general Skilled Worker floor, whichever applies). The requirement is always the higher of the general floor and the going rate. You can adjust your assumed weekly hours and new-entrant status in Visa Settings, since both affect the calculation.

Where do your threshold figures come from, and how current are they?

The general Skilled Worker floor (£41,700) and the Immigration Salary List floor (£33,400) come from the rules in force for certificates of sponsorship assigned on or after 22 July 2025. Occupation going rates come from the gov.uk going rates table, and each job's breakdown links to that source with the date the rate took effect. German EU Blue Card thresholds (€50,700 general, €45,934.20 reduced) are the figures effective 1 January 2026. Rules change — the badge is a snapshot, not a guarantee.

What is the "new entrant" setting in Visa Settings?

New entrant status is a lower salary requirement for people early in their career — broadly, applicants under 26, those switching from a Student or Graduate visa, and those working towards professional registration or a recognised qualification. It's a property of you, not of any job, which is why we never store it against a listing. Switch it on and every salary check recalculates with the 30% going-rate discount applied.

Why does an NHS job show as "Below Salary Threshold"?

Our calculator applies the standard Skilled Worker floors. It doesn't model the Health and Care Worker visa's much lower floor (usually at least £25,000) or NHS Agenda for Change national pay scales, which are assessed differently. So a perfectly sponsorable Band 5 nursing post can display as below threshold here. On healthcare roles, read that badge as "doesn't clear the standard Skilled Worker floor" rather than "can't be sponsored".

Do you cover jobs in Germany?

Yes. Use the country selector to switch between the UK and Germany, and every salary check recalculates against that country's rules. German roles are assessed against the EU Blue Card thresholds instead of Skilled Worker ones.

Why don't German jobs have a "Verified" sponsor badge?

Accepted Answer

Because Germany has no equivalent system. There's no employer sponsor licence and no public register to check — EU Blue Card eligibility rests on your qualification, the job offer and the salary. So for German listings we show the salary-threshold check and mark sponsorship as likely available, rather than claiming a register match that doesn't exist.

How do you decide a German job is a shortage occupation?

We infer it from the job title using a conservative keyword match across IT, engineering and healthcare terms in both English and German. If a title doesn't match, we fall back to the higher general Blue Card threshold rather than guessing in your favour — so we under-report shortage roles rather than over-report them. Always check the official shortage list before relying on the lower figure.

Sponsor licences can be revoked and salary rules can change at any time — always confirm sponsorship and eligibility directly with the employer, and speak to a qualified immigration adviser before making decisions about your visa.

Do you charge for sponsorship, or offer visa services?

Never, and neither should anyone else. We don't sell sponsorship, certificates of sponsorship, "job guarantees" or visa applications. If any employer or agent asks you to pay for a Certificate of Sponsorship or for the employer's sponsor licence costs, treat it as a serious warning sign — sponsors cannot lawfully pass those costs on to you.

Turn alerts on from the Alerts page and we'll email you a digest of newly posted roles that match your saved search since your last update, with the sponsor and salary-threshold status already shown for each one. You can turn them off again at any time from the same page, or from the link at the bottom of any alert email.

How often are jobs updated?

Accepted Answer

We pull live listings from the Adzuna jobs API across dozens of UK sectors, from the official NHS Jobs feed for healthcare roles, and from German sources for Blue Card roles — and refresh regularly, so you're not applying to roles that have already been filled or removed.

Applied and saved jobs are tied to your account so you can find them again later from your dashboard, under Saved Jobs and Applied Jobs. This data is only visible to you.
